You may recognise the umbrella from my 'Rain' piece. I took these photos of my umbrella last summer at the beach...I like how they turned out so I used it again for this piece.

eiwyn: yeah I did rotate it half way through, I thought it had a better effect to it. Hmm maybe I'll rotate it back and see how it looks now.

The shadow on the top gives a subtle roof effect, quite an inovative idea.
Except the fact that you took the photos last summer, I can't find the summer essence

, but it's very well executed once again.
Just try to rotate it back as you said, so the 'roof' becomes sand again.
BTW, this umbrella is fantastic !

hmm I wonder what this is piece needs for it to capture summer better.

This reminds me more of late summer and British summer rain than anything else.
Beautifully done. I love the scratches and the colours, they add to the overall mood.
